“if
we are to nurture certain traits within our children, we must first develop
those traits in ourselves”
THE WARRIOR CREED
ACADEMIC
SUCCESS – Academic success is important because it is strongly linked to
the positive outcomes we value for children.
INTEGRITY - Let
personal integrity be your guide. It is the foundation laid out by you at the
beginning of your day and will be your moral compass.
SPORTSMANSHIP - Those
who learn good sportsmanship will have come to understand that the real winners
in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behave with dignity —
whether they win or lose a game.
RESPECT - The
best way to teach respect is to show respect. When a child experiences respect,
they know what it feels like and begin to understand how important it is.
Respect is an attitude. Being respectful helps a child succeed in life. If children
don't have respect for peers, authority, or themselves, it's almost impossible for
them to succeed.
COMMITMENT - It is
those who commit
to teaching commitment who are blessed with a child grown to adulthood
who can commit to themselves and others and who can be counted on to 'be there'
when the going gets tough.
DISCIPLINE - Discipline is training that
corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character.
TEAM WORK - For a team to work together effectively, it takes all players of
the team to respect each other’s abilities and opinions. Being part of a team
enables your child to move from being closed in to being more opened. It will
help a child in all areas
of their learning, and help them to feel part of a community.
SPIRIT - Spirit can allow players to
assist their team in wanting to succeed.
